CR&SO is pleased to offer 4G Pentium Upgrade for NCR 56xx ATMs that brings usual 386 or 486 PC cores to Pentium-III or Celeron processor level.

4G Pentium Upgrade makes it possible to use modern software even on older 56xx machines, including new encryption algorithms with EPP keyboard, EMV smart card support, and migration to Windows NT/XP platform.

The upgrade is a straightforward hardware replacement, no additional software is required. Here are four easy steps that bring your 56xx ATM to the new level of 5th Generation ATMs:

  • remove old 386 or 486 motherboard from the PC cage
  • install a Pentium-III motherboard and an ATM adapter board instead
  • install new hard disk drive and a CD-ROM drive
  • put all the cables in place and switch it on

There's no need to replace any metal cages, power supplies or other interface boards, nor to install any additional or specific software. Upgraded ATM is ready to use as soon as you have completed the steps listed above.

The ATM adapter board supplied with the kit is 100% hardware compatible with NCR's SSPB board, providing SDC (ATM device communication) and PCCM (Host communication) facilities.

The motherboard is a highly integrated all-in-one industrial Pentium-III board, carrying Video, Audio and Ethernet controllers for seamless installation in TCP/IP environments.
